Wow. It's finally here. 🤩
I’m Ritik Kumar Gautam, and I can't quite believe I'm finally writing this. For years, I’ve had this dream in the back of my head, the kind that feels both exciting and completely impossible: to actually build and release my own game. 😅
Well, today, the impossible part just… disappeared. ✨ My first game, Mr Dino, is officially live! 🚀
Honestly, it’s a little terrifying. 🫣
So, what is this game I’ve poured so much time into? 🤔 Mr Dino isn't a massive, complex epic. It’s the opposite. It’s a simple, fun endless runner that I hope will make you smile. You play as a little green dinosaur 🦖 in a desert, and your only job is to run and jump over cacti 🌵. That’s it. It’s designed to be that game you can pick up for five minutes while waiting for a friend or just to clear your head. Easy to learn, but hopefully tough to put down when you’re chasing that new high score. 🏆
I built this entire thing by myself using GDevelop. It was just me, my computer 💻, and a lot of late nights trying to figure things out. This isn't just a passion project; it’s the very first step toward my real goal: starting my own little gaming company. Mr Dino is the first brick. 🧱
But a game is nothing without people to play it. This is where you come in, and I’m asking for your help. 🙏
I would be incredibly grateful if you’d give Mr Dino a try. See what you think. See if you can beat my high score (it’s not that high, you can probably do it 😉).
More than just playing, I want to build a community around this. 🤝 I'll be posting updates, behind-the-scenes stuff, and probably some silly dino memes on our social pages. Please come say hi and follow us on Facebook, X (Twitter), and Instagram! 👋
I also started a blog to document this whole crazy journey of building a game from scratch. You can follow along there!
And please, watch the little trailer we put together on YouTube! 🎬
Seriously, any and all feedback is a gift. 🎁 If you find a bug 🐞, have an idea 💡, or just want to talk about it, please send me an email. I’ll read every single one.
Thank you for reading this. Thank you for giving my little dino a chance. This is just the beginning.
Cheers,
Ritik Kumar Gautam
